Barbara Gibbs Ostmann is a journalist with 25 years of experience in newspaper, magazine, and cookbook writing and editing. Food writer for The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group since 1993, Ostmann previously was an assistant professor at the University of Missouri for three years and food editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 17 years. In addition to the 11 cookbooks she has co-edited with Jane L. Baker, Ostmann has copyedited or contributed to 15 other books. Ostmann is a Director of the International Association of Culinary Professionals for 2001-2003.
